Tip of the Week: Check Your Camera Settings

HEN_6899

Please, check your camera settings BEFORE you go out to shoot.  When I arrived at my hotel after a long flight, I was treated to a beautiful sunset.  I took the camera out and cracked off a few shots.  What I didn't realize was that I had slipped up and left my camera on ISO 3200.  The shot (shown above) would have been awesome if it hadn't been ruined by noise.

So, the next time you go out to shoot look at your camera settings prior to leaving the house.  It might seem trivial, but when you're in a hurry to hit the road, things can get ugly in an instance.  This probably won't be the last time I shoot with the wrong settings, but it should be a long time before I do it again.
