Work...Work...Work...Play!
I'm in Cocoa Beach, Florida at the moment on a business trip, and it's been just that, all business. I haven't had much time to shoot anything. I mean, I did go north to the Daytona International Speedway and enjoyed the Daytona 200, but the views didn't allow me to take any decent pictures.
The Space Shuttle Discovery landed last Wednesday for the last time, but I couldn't see it because it came in from the north. Furthermore, while I was changing lenses it landed...doh! (I was told you hardly see it anyway,
but I did hear the sonic boom).
Last Friday, I was fortunate enough to witness a Delta IV launch. Luckily, I managed to get one shot of the rocket about a couple hundred feet above the pad. For now, I have only uploaded a crappy cell phone pic (right) to twitpic, because I don't have a laptop. In the picture I believe the rocket was already above 100,000 feet.
Overall, I'm having a great time in Florida! I'm a huge Space geek, so just being here at Space Coast is huge for me. Today, I went to the beach (for like an hour - sad I know), and tryed to enjoy myself quickly before going to work (I'm on swing shift 2p-10:30p). Tomorrow, I'm going to the Kennedy Space Center which has been my goal since arriving. We were told by a manger that "...this is not a vacation", and he was right. But, I'm going to try my best to squeeze every drop of fun out of this trip that I can!!
