Sigma's New 24-70mm

Sigma has introduced a new version of its popular 24-70 f2.8 zoom lens. Dubbed the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG HSM, this lens is more compact than the lens it replaced. The new design features 14 elements in 12 groups, including three aspherical, one ELD and two SLD elements. The addition of HSM means that you can use it on a camera that lacks a built-in focus motor like the D40/60 series. I had considered the non-HSM version, but passed because I wanted AF. Now, I have to find the budget for this lens. It would make a great indoor, low-light lens. The 24-70 will be made for Nikon, Canon, Sigma, Pentax, and Sony mounts. For more info check the Sigma website.
