A Different Perspective

Are you thinking about ways to make your photography better? (The answer should be yes, of course.) Well, I found that a great way to improve my pictures was to find a different perspective. This simple process can dramatically improve your pictures.

For this shot, I held the camera down near the stem, very close to the ground. I couldn't even see the viewfinder. By using trial and error (taking a shot, looking at the LCD, then making adjustments) I found the position that provided the composition I was looking for. There are many different methods that you can utilize to find a different perspective. Some include simply moving closer to, or further away from your subject. You could also try tilting the camera up or down. Others involve using different lenses, such as ultra-wide angle, and telephoto. For example, with an ultra-wide you can get extremely close to your subject which slams the subject in the viewers face. Furthermore, you can use a telephoto to compress the distances between objects in the frame (making a distant object look closer).
